What Our Customers are Saying
We had a serious issue with raccoons in the attic, and Gary handled it flawlessly from start to finish. He quickly identified the problem and used a humane and effective trapping method to remove the raccoons. What really impressed me was that he didn’t just do a quick fix—he returned after a week to make sure there were no more animals left, which gave us real peace of mind.
Gary went above and beyond with the prevention work. He installed durable wire mesh over every roof and plumbing vent to ensure nothing could get back in.In addition to the high-quality work, his pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the level of service and attention to detail provided.Professional, thorough, and detail-oriented—Gary truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend his services to anyone dealing with wildlife issues in their home.

Called Gary and he was able to come almost immediately. He did a great job and went above and beyond. Explained everything in detail and was very thorough. He took his time to find and patch up/cover up any possible entry points where rodents could enter, inside and outside. He even had a drone to check the roof. This is my third exterminator and I will not be looking elsewhere! Extremely fair pricing and did a way better job than my last experiences. Highly recommend.

I have an ongoing raccoon problem in my backyard. Gary from Guard More Pest Control Inc exceeded my expectations! He was professional, helpful and friendly. He removed the raccoon feces off of my deck and cleaned up the area (this is an after photo of the cleanup, where the wood used to be a black colour). He sprayed animal repellent and bug spray at the front of my house and in my backyard. He also put a mesh cover to prevent the raccoons from returning (see attached picture). Gary went above and beyond with the services and his prices are reasonable. I'm very happy that Gary reached out to me, and I would definitely recommend him to family and friends!

Strongly recommend! Gary helped us with our small bed bug infestation for a very reasonable price. He's a hard worker with a customer-centric approach. The preparation guides were a bit off in several places, but Gary clarified and answered my questions very promptly and in detail. Both treatment sessions went extremely smooth.

Complete Pest Control Services
for Toronto Homes and Businesses
Every treatment is species-specific. We identify the pest, locate the colony or entry point, and apply the right combination of Health Canada Health Canada-registered and approved products. We do not use a not a generic spray-and-pray approach because that will never get remove the pests.
The Guard More Process
- Inspect & Identify: We identify the exact species before we do anything else because different pests require different treatments. Pharaoh ants, carpenter ants, rats, and raccoons all require completely different protocols. Wrong identification means wasted treatment and a recurring problem. We inspect entry points, nest sites, conducive conditions (moisture, food, access), and map the full extent of the infestation.
- Targeted Treatment: We apply the appropriate combination of Health Canada-registered and approved products (insecticides, rodenticides, bait stations, traps, exclusions) based on the species and infestation severity. Some examples are slow-acting non-repellent baits for ants and cockroaches (so the active ingredient reaches the queen via trophallaxis), tamper-resistant rodent stations with sealed entry points, exclusion hardware for wildlife, and residual perimeter treatments where warranted. Never a one-size-fits-all spray.
- Seal & Exclude: For rodents and wildlife, treatment without exclusion is temporary. We seal entry points with commercial-grade materials — 16-gauge galvanized steel mesh, heavy-gauge flashing, and expansion-resistant sealants — after confirming the structure is clear. All exclusion coverings on wildlife work come with a lifetime warranty. For insects, we advise on structural and environmental factors that will need remediation to prevent re-infestation.
- Follow-Up & Guarantee: We provide a 30 to 60 days for most insect treatments because the multi-month life cycles of ants, cockroaches, and bed bugs mean a single visit is rarely sufficient based on infestation level. Bed bugs always require 2 visits to break the reproduction cycle and known as 'super bugs' due to ability to grow resistance to chemicals over time. Our work is backed by a written re-treatment guarantee. If the pest returns within the guarantee period, we return at no charge.

Ontario Line Construction Alert — Rat Displacement in East Toronto
Toronto–Danforth ward rodent complaints rose 94% between 2018 and 2024. Tunnel boring for the Ontario Line running through Leslieville, Riverside, Corktown, Greektown, and Pape Village — began April 2026. Construction ground vibration is a documented driver of rat colony displacement. The City of Toronto's 2026 Rat Response Plan acknowledges: "Before you dig, you trap". Homeowners near construction zones should proactively schedule a rodent exclusion inspection.

Rats in East Toronto: Toronto is Canada's #1 rattiest city for the second consecutive year. A peer-reviewed study in Science Advances (2025) ranked Toronto 3rd globally for fastest-growing urban rat populations even ahead of New York City. Rodent service requests to the City have more than doubled over the past decade, rising from 1,165 in 2015 to 2,523 in 2024. Rat-root-damaged sewer laterals in Toronto's pre-1960 neighbourhoods create permanent access points that need professional exclusion, not just bait.

Bed Bugs in Dense Housing: Toronto has ranked #1 for bed bug treatments in Canada every year since 2017. Dense condo towers (comprising of roughly 44% of Toronto's housing stock) provide the ideal environment for bed bugs to rapidly spread through shared walls, plumbing chases, and electrical conduits. An untreated infested unit can re-infest an entire floor within weeks. High-turnover Airbnb and short-term rental activity continuously re-introduces bed bugs into Toronto's condo towers. Treatment must be coordinated building-wide to be effective.

Carpenter Ant Surge: Carpenter ant swarming season in Toronto runs May through June, triggered when daytime temperatures consistently exceed 15°C. Winged alates seen indoors in spring almost always mean a mature satellite colony is established inside the structure — the colony has likely been growing for 2–4 years. Toronto's older wood-frame housing stock (29% of homes were built before 1960) provides abundant moisture-damaged wood that carpenter ant colonies exploit. Early spring treatment eliminates the colony before the next generation disperses.

Raccoons in Attics: Toronto has an estimated 100,000+ raccoons because the city is one of the highest urban densities in the world. Raccoons give birth between mid-February and May, and kits remain dependent on the mother for 8–12 weeks. Any exclusion work attempted during this window without first removing the kits results in the mother tearing back through shingles, soffit, and fascia to reach them. GuardMore uses humane heated reunion-box protocols during baby season and provides a lifetime warranty on all galvanized steel exclusion coverings installed.'
