What Our Customers are Saying
We had a serious issue with raccoons in the attic, and Gary handled it flawlessly from start to finish. He quickly identified the problem and used a humane and effective trapping method to remove the raccoons. What really impressed me was that he didn’t just do a quick fix—he returned after a week to make sure there were no more animals left, which gave us real peace of mind.
Gary went above and beyond with the prevention work. He installed durable wire mesh over every roof and plumbing vent to ensure nothing could get back in.In addition to the high-quality work, his pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the level of service and attention to detail provided.Professional, thorough, and detail-oriented—Gary truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend his services to anyone dealing with wildlife issues in their home.

Called Gary and he was able to come almost immediately. He did a great job and went above and beyond. Explained everything in detail and was very thorough. He took his time to find and patch up/cover up any possible entry points where rodents could enter, inside and outside. He even had a drone to check the roof. This is my third exterminator and I will not be looking elsewhere! Extremely fair pricing and did a way better job than my last experiences. Highly recommend.

I have an ongoing raccoon problem in my backyard. Gary from Guard More Pest Control Inc exceeded my expectations! He was professional, helpful and friendly. He removed the raccoon feces off of my deck and cleaned up the area (this is an after photo of the cleanup, where the wood used to be a black colour). He sprayed animal repellent and bug spray at the front of my house and in my backyard. He also put a mesh cover to prevent the raccoons from returning (see attached picture). Gary went above and beyond with the services and his prices are reasonable. I'm very happy that Gary reached out to me, and I would definitely recommend him to family and friends!

Strongly recommend! Gary helped us with our small bed bug infestation for a very reasonable price. He's a hard worker with a customer-centric approach. The preparation guides were a bit off in several places, but Gary clarified and answered my questions very promptly and in detail. Both treatment sessions went extremely smooth.

Complete Pest Control Services
for Richmond Hill Homes and Businesses
Every treatment is species-specific. We identify the pest, locate the colony or entry point, and apply the right combination of Health Canada-registered and approved products. We do not use a not a generic spray-and-pray approach because that will never remove the pests.
The Guard More Process
- Inspect & Identify: We identify the exact species before we do anything else because different pests require different treatments. Pharaoh ants, carpenter ants, rats, and raccoons all require completely different protocols. Wrong identification means wasted treatment and a recurring problem. We inspect entry points, nest sites, conducive conditions (moisture, food, access), and map the full extent of the infestation.
- Targeted Treatment: We apply the appropriate combination of Health Canada-registered and approved products (insecticides, rodenticides, bait stations, traps, exclusions) based on the species and infestation severity. Some examples are slow-acting non-repellent baits for ants and cockroaches (so the active ingredient reaches the queen via trophallaxis), tamper-resistant rodent stations with sealed entry points, exclusion hardware for wildlife, and residual perimeter treatments where warranted. Never a one-size-fits-all spray.
- Seal & Exclude: For rodents and wildlife, treatment without exclusion is temporary. We seal entry points with commercial-grade materials — 16-gauge galvanized steel mesh, heavy-gauge flashing, and expansion-resistant sealants — after confirming the structure is clear. All exclusion coverings on wildlife work come with a lifetime warranty. For insects, we advise on structural and environmental factors that will need remediation to prevent re-infestation.
- Follow-Up & Guarantee: We provide a 30 to 60 days for most insect treatments because the multi-month life cycles of ants, cockroaches, and bed bugs mean a single visit is rarely sufficient based on infestation level. Bed bugs always require 2 visits to break the reproduction cycle and known as 'super bugs' due to ability to grow resistance to chemicals over time. Our work is backed by a written re-treatment guarantee. If the pest returns within the guarantee period, we return at no charge.
Richmond Hill Pest Trends You Need to Know
Wildlife Denning Season: Richmond Hill's Moraine proximity makes it one of the GTA's most wildlife-active suburban areas. Raccoons, squirrels, and skunks begin denning in February and are fully established with young by April–May. Kits are immobile for 8–10 week, this period does not allow one-way exclusion doors cannot be installed safely until babies are confirmed absent. Guard More Pest Control's NWCOA-certified team is trained in reunion-box protocols and humane wildlife management under Ontario's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.

Carpenter Ant Swarm Season: Richmond Hill's mature tree canopy — especially around Mill Pond, Oak Ridges, and North Richvale — hosts large parent carpenter ant colonies that send satellite nests into adjacent homes. May and June are the swarming months: when winged alates appear indoors, a mature colony is already established inside the wood framing. Richmond Hill's older village homes are particularly vulnerable due to original wood construction and the moisture entry points that Ontario winters create.

Wasps and Hornets: Yellowjackets and bald-faced hornets nest aggressively in Richmond Hill's suburban and ravine-edge properties hidden under the deck boards, in wall voids, behind shutters, or inside soffits. Nests grow from golf-ball size in June to basketball size by August, with colonies peaking at 4,000–5,000 workers. Guard More Pest Control treat wasp nests at dusk when the colony is fully inside, using residual dustable insecticides that prevent re-establishment through the nest opening.

Mouse and Rat Entry Season: Fall is Richmond Hill's primary rodent pressure season. As temperatures drop in October, mice begin probing foundations, utility penetrations, and garage-door seals squeezing in through gaps as small as 6mm (size of a dime). Newer subdivisions in Elgin Mills and Carrville are vulnerable because builder-grade sealing around pipes and vents is not wildlife-resistant. We inspect every potential entry point and seal with galvanized steel mesh and not foam, which mice chew through in hours.
