4. Allow the Colony to Collapse
When a nest is concealed inside a soffit or wall cavity, immediate physical removal is not always necessary or practical.
The first objective is eliminating the active colony.
5. Remove Accessible Nest Material Where Appropriate
Exposed nests can often be removed once the colony is inactive.
Concealed nests may not require opening walls or soffits simply to remove inactive material.

Should a Wasp Nest Be Removed After Treatment?
Where a nest is accessible, physical removal may be appropriate after the colony has been successfully treated.
However, nests located inside walls, soffits or other enclosed cavities may not need to be physically removed.
The primary objective is to eliminate the active colony, including the queen.
Once the queen and colony have been successfully eliminated, the remaining workers cannot simply establish the same colony elsewhere.
Should You Seal the Wasp Entry Hole?
Not while the colony is still active.
Blocking an active entrance can force wasps to search for another route.
If the nest is inside a wall or soffit, that alternative route could potentially lead further into the structure.
Treat the active colony first.
Structural openings can then be assessed once activity has stopped.
