Toronto Rodent Control for Mice & Rats

Professional Mouse & Rat Control in Toronto

Hearing scratching inside a wall? Finding droppings under the kitchen sink? Seen a mouse run across the floor?

Guard More Pest Control provides professional rodent control in Toronto for mice and rat infestations in houses, condos, apartments, rental properties and commercial buildings.

Our approach isn't limited to putting down a few traps.

We inspect the property to establish what rodent you're dealing with, where activity is occurring and how rodents may be getting into the building.

Treatment can then combine professional trapping or baiting with structural exclusion of identified entry points.

Mouse & Rat Control in Toronto

Rodents are good at exploiting buildings.

Mice can get through remarkably small openings around foundations, utility penetrations, vents and other structural gaps.

Once inside, they can establish activity around:
  • Kitchens
  • Basements
  • Attics
  • Garages
  • Wall voids
  • Crawl spaces
  • Storage areas
  • Utility rooms
  • Areas around food and waste
Simply catching the mouse you saw doesn't establish how it entered.Guard More's Toronto rodent service can include:
  • Interior and exterior inspection
  • Mouse and rat identification
  • Entry-point identification
  • Nesting and travel-route assessment
  • Professional trapping
  • Bait-station placement
  • Rodenticide treatment where appropriate
  • Structural exclusion
  • Follow-up
  • Monitoring
The objective is population control plus exclusion, not an endless cycle of catching rodents whilst leaving the building open to more.

Guard More's current general rodent service explicitly uses this inspection → treatment → exclusion → monitoring model.

Signs of a Rodent Infestation

Rodent Droppings

Small dark droppings may appear inside cabinets, underneath sinks, along walls or near food-storage areas.

Scratching or Scurrying

Movement inside walls, ceilings and floors can become particularly noticeable at night.

Gnaw Marks

Mice and rats continually gnaw and may damage packaging, wood, plastics and other materials.

Nesting Material

Shredded paper, fabric and insulation can be used for nesting.

Grease or Smudge Marks

Repeated rodent movement along the same routes can leave visible marks.

Damaged Food Packaging

Chewed bags, boxes or containers are an obvious reason to investigate further.

Actual Mouse or Rat Sightings

Seeing a rodent confirms activity, but doesn't tell you the size or location of the wider infestation.

Rodent Control for Toronto Houses

Toronto houses can present rodents with multiple potential routes into the structure.

Guard More checks areas including:

  • Foundations
  • Utility penetrations
  • Dryer and exhaust vents
  • Doors
  • Garage areas
  • Rooflines
  • Exterior gaps
  • Basements
  • Attics

Older properties, renovations, additions and utility work can all leave gaps worth investigating.

A mouse problem therefore isn't always a "kitchen problem" just because that's where the mouse was seen.

The kitchen may simply be where it is feeding.

Mice in Toronto Condos & Apartments

Rodent control in a multi-unit building can be different from treating a detached house.

Mice may travel through:

  • Utility penetrations
  • Pipe chases
  • Wall voids
  • Service areas
  • Shared structural spaces

Guard More works with:

  • Condo residents
  • Tenants
  • Landlords
  • Property managers
  • Building owners

If activity affects multiple units, tell us before the inspection.

The underlying issue may require investigation beyond a single kitchen or apartment.

Our Toronto Rodent Control Process

1. Inspection

We inspect inside and outside the property for:

  • Rodent activity
  • Entry points
  • Nesting locations
  • Travel routes
  • Food sources
  • Structural vulnerabilities

2. Identify Mice vs Rats

Mice and rats behave differently.

The species, activity level and property determine the treatment plan.

3. Trapping & Baiting

Depending on the situation, Guard More can deploy professional snap traps, bait stations and/or tamper-resistant rodenticide in appropriate locations.

4. Rodent Exclusion

This is the bit many DIY approaches miss.

Identified entry points can be secured using appropriate materials to prevent rodents simply replacing those removed.

Guard More's current service uses exclusion materials including hardware cloth, steel wool, caulk and suitable expanding foam as part of the sealing system.

5. Follow-Up & Monitoring

Guard More can return to inspect traps, remove rodents, replenish bait where appropriate and monitor activity. Please note that follow-up visits require a per visit fee.

Why Traps Alone Aren't Enough

A trap can catch a mouse.

It cannot repair a hole.

If rodents are entering through an accessible structural opening, trapping without exclusion can become a revolving door:

rodent enters → rodent gets caught → another rodent enters.

‍
That's why we look at both active population control and structural access.

How Long Does Rodent Control Take?

Guard More's current programme indicates that active infestations commonly require 2–3 service visits over approximately 1–2 weeks, although the actual programme depends on infestation severity and the property.

Regular monitoring or bait servicing may be recommended where continuing rodent pressure exists.

What Our Rodent Customers Say

★★★★★ Sharon Lee

Gary is extremely thorough and cares a lot about family safety, qualities I very much appreciate when dealing with unwanted rodents. He provided service to us back in October and we are happy to report that after his initial visit to fortify the house and a second visit to check on and clear traps, we’ve been in the clear since late fall. Thank you so much Gary!

★★★★★ Hyder Jameel

I have rats start appearing in my backyard. I called Gary, and he came asap. He did an inspection to make sure my family was not in danger of any rats coming into the house. Fortunately, we had no holes or big enough cracks for it to fit through. He set up rodent bait stations around the house. Thank you, Gary!

★★★★★ costas mirza

We like to support local businesses when possible so we called Gary (Guard More) for help after a mouse sighting in our place.  He took his time and did a thorough inspection including outside the house and the basement, covered the dryer vent with mesh and filled and blocked a small hole in the basement as well as laying baits.  He has also offered to return to check on the baits in the coming weeks for no additional charge. His rate was very reasonable and to top it off Gary is a really nice guy.  Highly recommend.

★★★★★ Malinga Maddumage

We recently moved into our condo and found mouse droppings in the kitchen. We found a couple pest control companies on Homestars and lucky to catch Guard More Pest Control with availability yesterday. Gary came by within 2 hours (phew). He sent bait traps. We've already caught a mouse wow. Thanks Gary for the prevention advice!!
